River In Athens
I’m on a River in Athens.
I flow gently; I move blissfully.
I empathize with the ebbs and flows;
I sympathize with the wind that blows.
I fall with the falls;
I crash against the walls;
The gentlest touch moves me,
But you cannot destroy me.
Life begins with me;
I pour life to thee;
I’m simply floating through Athens,
But no one notices me.
I’m special but unremarkable,
Pivotal but trivial,
Essential but replaceable,
Common but untraceable.
I’m hunted; I fall;
I spread though it all.
I give life to thee;
But you give me nothing at all.
