The Beauty of Porsche

The curves, the frog eyes, the drive, and the looks make any Porsche a pretty special car. I have never been as excited to sit in a car and drive it every day to work as much as I am every time I sit in my Porsche. I’ve owned a BMW before this and have driven a Toyota a fair number of times previously too. But none have come close to the feeling of sitting inside a Porsche and seeing the Red and Gold emblem glisten in front of you on the steering wheel. It’s a special, intangible, feeling. It contains history. It contains a story. But most of all, it contains character. Where most cars function as tools to get you from Point A to Point B, my Porsche feels like an extension of myself and my character. It feels like the embodiment of my fun, sense of wonder, and vigor. It breathes more life into me as I drive it and adds more optimism to my day. It’s a great place to be at the end of a long, troublesome, day, and an even better place to be during the start of any day. But this relationship is not one of materialistic want or longing; it’s completely the opposite; it’s an engendering of character and value and of cherish and passion. I love my British Racing Green Porsche and let me explain why.

It adds more value to my day.

In a typical work day, you travel to and from work in any car as a means of getting to where you need to go. It’s essential. But often, that travel is laborious or, with extensive traffic in some cities, downright terrible. For me, however, this travel is a source of fun and escape. Driving my Porsche to and from work makes me feel like a Race Car Driver. I feel significant, not in the materialistic sense, but I feel like I am significant in the driving of my car. And this car makes me feel essential to its function in a way that no car ever has. Most cars are rather monotonous machines that are hyper-developed to add maximum convenience to the user making them, in fact, incredibly boring. But my Porsche feels like a beast to be tamed. And I am the Matador. I feel like I have to actively drive it and control it every day and I am always in for a wonderful surprise in the drive. I love this. It makes driving to and from work a pleasure. It makes that travel meaningful when most of the time such travel is a source of pain. It adds value to my day by keeping me excited, happy, and fulfilled during that time. For this reason, I love my Porsche.

It increases my sense of passion and vigor.

Porsche as a brand has a rich history and racing pedigree and I feel as if every car embodies the entire brand’s lineage into one. I feel the decades of Porsche’s racing prowess every time I drive my car; It’s awesome. It makes me feel like I am part of history and am holding the burning torch for Porsche and continuing the legacy of the brand every time I drive the car. This feeling is invigorating. It is empowering. It has become a great source of passion for me and continues to empower me throughout other aspects of my life. I have never been so deeply connected to a brand. And never has a brand made me feel empowered like this. It gives me added energy to other aspects of my life: friendship, love, work, and academics. The drive fuels me and thus fuels my other work. It truly is a wonderful give and take relationship. For this reason, I love my Porsche.

It’s an extension of my character. It’s the car equivalent of me.

My Porsche feels like the embodiment of my character. It hums the way I do, assumes a position on the road and world the way I do, maneuvers around objects and obstacles the way I do, and works hard and strong the way I do. It has my characteristics intrinsically. Maybe that is why I bought it. But nonetheless it is a great fit to me. Nothing gives me greater joy than driving an exceptional car that is seemingly tailored for me. It’s a connection that I can feel but not entirely describe. It becomes an extension of who I am and who I am meant to be. And that is my Porsche. It is a description of who I am and can be and it is exceptional in nailing that definition. The possibilities in my Porsche are endless and the optimism while experiencing it’s drive is boundless. For this reason, I love my Porsche.

My love for my Porsche may very well derive from exceptional advertising campaigns by Porsche but I feel that at the heart of every company, there is a soul. This soul defines the reason behind their products and the methodology behind their innovation. This soul in Porsche is tangible and present in every car. You can feel it as you sit inside. You can borrow from it as you drive. And most of all, you can become an extension of it as you believe in the boundless possibilities the car affords to you.
